A woman has accused the New York City police commissioner's son of sexual assault.
The alleged aggressor co-hosts a television show known as "Good Day New York" on the Fox 5 station.
While authorities are investigating the allegations, he has not been charged with anything yet, nor has he been arrested.
The attack supposedly occurred in October of 2011, but the woman only filed a complaint with the police over the incident in late January.
She reported that she met him while walking on the street, and then agreed to go have drinks together. Following that, she asserts, he raped her in the office of a law firm where she works.
He, on the other hand, denies any wrongdoing.
There were also reportedly friendly text messages and phone calls between the two of them after what she describes as a rape. He has expressed confidence that a full investigation will result in his complete exoneration of any charges, and is reportedly fully cooperating with authorities.
The New York City police department has turned the entire investigation over to the New York County District Attorney's Office to try to short circuit any possible conflict of interest.
The 43-year-old broadcaster worked for the Fox News Channel in 2002, and was previously in the Marine Corps and then in the Marine Corps reserves, where he continues to serve as a lieutenant.
During 2005-2007, he was a White House reporter for Fox, and served as an Iraq War correspondent.
The broadcaster reportedly requested some time off from his TV job after the allegations were reported in the media.
